The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) provides education, information, help and hope to the public. It advocates prevention, intervention and treatment through offices in New York and Washington, and a nationwide network of Affiliates.
NCADI is one of the largest Federal clearinghouses, offering more than 500 items to the public, many of which are free of charge. We distribute the latest studies and surveys, guides, videocassettes, and other types of information and materials on substance abuse from various agencies.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) supports and conducts biomedical and behavioral research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems. NIAAA also provides leadership in the national effort to reduce the severe and often fatal consequences of these problems.
The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) administers the nation's most comprehensive system of services for substance abusing populations. In addition to treatment services, thousands of people benefit daily from prevention initiatives carried out by OASAS-sponsored or licensed prevention programs.
CCSNYS provides capacity-building technical assistance and support, including group purchasing, organizational training and consulting, and public policy work, to charitable nonprofits across New York State through a Nonprofit Services Division.
